Position Summary

Edgewell Personal Care is looking to fill a Quality Specialist position for its manufacturing site located at Ormond Beach, Florida. The candidate should have the necessary knowledge and experience to use computer systems and basic statistical analysis tools to evaluate and present data. The candidate should understand the basics of conducting formula, process, equipment and packaging trials and validations. The candidate should have the necessary skill set to interact with different customers (internal and external) to solve quality related issues.


Accountabilities

  • Ensure the quality of products produced at Playtex Business Unit is consistent with EPC / Playtex Mfg. Inc. Quality standards.

  • Ensure the Quality Unit is functioning efficiently by assessing current processes and identifying ways to streamline or improve.

  • Ensure the timely closure of Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations.

  • Support Sun Care quality related projects:
    internal and external.

  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers to resolve quality issues.

  • Creates reports for management, and other internal groups. Reports include validation related protocols and reports, trip, audit, and status.


Specific Accountabilities

  • Ability to work with the validation cross functional team relative to generating, executing and closing validation protocols and reports.

  • Support the Sun Care and Shave Prep Consumer Complaints Program by evaluating and testing complaint related samples when required.

  • Support the Annual Product Review (APR) program when required.

  • Plan, schedule and conduct process and product quality audits to appropriate regulations and Playtex requirements.

  • Support closure of open Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) incidents.

  • Ability to work with vendors, contract manufacturers and cross functional teams relative to problem resolution

  • Support closing of non-conformances and deviations, if needed.

  • Support the Quality Engineering team to ensure adherence to procedures and regulatory compliance.

  • Support the Quality Engineering team on line trials, equipment qualifications, formula validations and process/packaging validation exercises.

  • Submit reports to Quality Engineers and QA Management.

  • Ability to write, review, revise and approve Quality SOP's and forms.

  • Ability to review and approve New Product Specifications, Bill Of Materials, Packaging Assembly Specs, Non Conformance Reports and Deviations when required.

  • Ability to close communication loops effectively with internal and external customers.

  • Ability to facilitate a cross functional team in relationship to quality issues.

  • May also perform additional duties as assigned


Required Skills and Experience

  • Associate Degree in related field

  • Qualification/Validation experience desired

  • Five years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment in a quality related field

  • Five years minimum experience in an FDA regulated business or ISO:
    9000 Quality System

  • ASQ certification preferred

  • QC laboratory knowledge preferred


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of CFR 210/211 and/or CFR 820

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

  • Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office

  • Well organized person

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Strong problem solving skills, including root cause analysis tools

  • Strong statistics and sampling plans background

  • Ability and willingness to travel, as in the execution of the duties of this position the employee may travel up to approximately 10%, or slightly more, of their work time


Working Relationships & Environment

  • Position reports to a Senior Quality Engineer

  • Close relationships with Marketing, R&D, Packaging Development, Consumer Complaints, APR, Quality Engineering and Corporate Quality groups

  • External engagement may include Suppliers, Service Providers and Contract Manufacturer

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time (auditing)

  • Ability to travel - ground and air

  • Work schedules may vary from typical business hours

  • Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
